In Indragiri Hilir, most of people are employed in low-income, informal sector and unstable jobs – mostly working as coconut farmers. During this coronavirus outbreak, they could not survive any longer. This segment of the working population is becoming the first to lose their jobs due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, due to the decline of economy in Indonesia, many migrants originally from Indragiri Hilir who work and live in big cities have to return to their hometown without livelihoods. They are becoming more fearful in not knowing where their next income will come from. With the loss of their livelihoods, they are unable to pay for basic necessities including food, now leaving these people at risk of facing hunger.

This is why Yayasan Bahtera DwipaAbadi is launching a campaign with your help to provide as many people as we can here in Indragiri Hilir.
